The easiest way to care for this product is to use common sense. It's made of Kraft paper and can survive some rough use, but it won't last an underwater dive or a heavy karate chop. Fire will burn it, sharp knives will damage it and rain will wet it. And while yes it is toxin-free and biodegradable, we don't recommend eating it.
